Mission Statement

The Courage to Risk Conference is a collaborative conference comprised of a variety of organizations committed to the educational success of students with diverse learning needs. The mission of the CTR conference is to provide quality educational experiences to parents, students, teachers, and community members; to provide networking experiences for participants; and to motivate those working with students with diverse learning needs. The CTR committee seeks to accomplish this by planning a conference in Colorado for educators, and families of students with diverse learning needs.

About the Lion

The lion was chosen as a symbol of courage and has been an emblem of the CTR conference since its inception. In honor of our 25th Anniversary, we’ve adopted a new lion. We welcome this new art, Lion by Patty Storms (www.pattystorms.com) and encourage you to visit her website and see more of her amazing work. The committee unanimously voted to name this lion “Sy,” like all his predecessors, to honor all the great work Sy Wallach did for the conference over the years.
